Sebastian Holecek


Sebastian Holecek was born in Vienna. Already during his studies at the University of Music in Vienna, he guested in Holland, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. As of 1990/1991 he was engaged at the Gärtnerplatztheater Munich. There, he for example performed Figaro, Don Giovanni and Harlekin (Ariadne auf Naxos). Since this engagement, he has sung at opera houses all over the world, for example at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, in Paris, New York, Cape Town, Monte Carlo, Santiago de Chile, Madrid, Barcelona, Amsterdam, St. Gallen, Turin, Naples, Dusseldorf and Stuttgart. In 2006, he became fixed member of the ensemble of the Wiener Volksoper. Sebastian Holecek has a comprehensive repertoire with roles such as Danilo (Die lustige Witwe), the title role in Gesualdo, Heerrufer (Lohengrin), Schaunard (La Bohème), as well as the title role in Il Prigioniero, Masetto (Don Giovanni), Escamillo (Carmen), Kaspar (Der Freischütz), Giorgio Germont (La traviata), Scarpia. He made his debut at the Wiener Staatsoper in 1994 and for example sung Fléville (Andrea Chénier), Harlekin (Ariadne auf Naxos), Papageno, Christian (Un ballo in maschera), Graf Dominik (Arabella), Marullo (Rigoletto), Don Fernando (Fidelio).
