Olga Bezsmertna
Since her spectacular role debut as Rusalka next to Piotr Beczala and as Rachel in La Juive next to Neil Shicoff’s legendary Eleazar at the Wiener Staatsoper during the 2014/2015 season, Olga Bezsmertna has established herself as one of today’s most striking young singers thanks to her „magnificent voice“(Die Presse). Olga Bezsmertna has been an ensemble member at the Wiener Staatsoper since February 2012, where she made a spectacular house debut as Dame in Hindemith’s Cardillac conducted by Franz Welser-Möst.
In season 2015/2016 she performed Contessa under James Gaffigan, Rosalinde under Stefan Soltesz, Fiordiligi under Tomas Netopil and Donna Elvira under Sacha Goetzel at the Wiener Staatsoper. Olga Bezsmertna sang concerts with Camerata Salzburg and Louis Langrée conducting at Mozarteum Salzburg and was again guest at Salzburg Festival in Strauss’ Die Liebe der Danae under the baton of Franz Welser-Möst.
Her engagement at the Vienna State Opera in season 2016/2017 include: Phénice in the new production of Gluck’s Armide under Mark Minkowski, her role debut as Liu in Turandot under Marc Armiliato, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni with Adam Fischer conducting, her debut as Tatjana in Eugen Onegin under Patrick Lange as well as her role debut as Mélisande in the new production of Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande (Marelli/Altinoglu).
In 2017/18 her roles at the Vienna State Opera were: Alice (Falstaff), Tatjana, Mélisande, Pamina,
In 2018/19 she appeared as Tatjana, Rosalinde, Donna Elvira, Alice, Mimi and Lucile in von Einem's Dantons Tod.
In 2014/2015 Olga Bezsmertna made her debut at the Salzburger Festspiele 2015 as Marzelline in the new production of Fidelio (directed by Claus Guth and conducted by Franz Welser-Möst) next to Jonas Kaufmann and Adrienne Pieczonka.
In 2011 Olga Bezsmertna was bestowed the title NEUE STIMME 2011 at the competition “Neue Stimmen” of the Bertelsmann Foundation. The jury was chaired by Dominique Meyer. Prior to this, in Summer 2011, she participated in the Young Singers Project in Salzburg.
In 2010 Olga Bezsmertna graduated from the Kiev National Academy of Music.
