Christian Elsner
Christian Elsner is a regular guest performer at international festivals and in all the major concert halls around the world, from Berlin, Vienna, Milan and London to New York and Tokyo. He has worked with conductors such as Blomstedt, Eschenbach, Giulini, Harnoncourt, Hengelbrock, Janowski, Jansons, Luisi, Marriner, Norrington and Thielemann, and has been involved in numerous recordings.
With his celebrated début at the Semperoper Dresden as Siegmund in Wagner’s Valkyrie in February 2010 he established himself in the first league of Wagner tenors. Accompanied by pianists including Hoell, Johnson, Spencer and his duo partner Kehring, the tenor has performed Lieder recitals in Berlin, Lucerne, London, Ravinia and at the Schubertiade Feldkirch.
Apart from being a professional singer, he is also an enthusiastic writer of children’s books: his first books Lennie und die Zauberfloete and Lennie in der Wolfsschlucht which was then joined by Lennie und der Ring des Nibelungen. He is also a professor at the University of Würzburg.
